Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for the Knightdale/Raleigh area to support the SieSAW skid-assembly operation. You will drive manufacturing capability, continuity, and continuous improvement across processes, introduce new products, and optimize production lines with capital expenditures and fixture design.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing, a Bachelor’s in engineering, and proficiency with lean methods, AutoCAD, and SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Lean manufacturing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Improve safety for all personnel that work in and around production lines.
• Measure and document manufacturing processes to reduce errors and improve quality and productivity.
• Identify and manage improvement projects that may require capital expenditures and tooling changes.
• Lead digital work instructions, operator displays, dashboards and other connected worker tools.
• Coordinate maintenance improvements in production areas and maintain line drawings.
• Manage production line changes related to new product introductions and expansions.
• Design, procure, and validate fixtures, tools, and shop aides including lifting equipment and calibrated tooling.
• Define key production steps and build sequences for diverse processes.
• Prepare equipment and infrastructure to meet changing production challenges.
• Develop specifications for jigs and fixtures using takt time and capacity calculations.
• Lead process changes, training, and improvements to build processes.

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for our SieSAW (skid assembly) operation. This position will be based in Raleigh/Knightdale, North Carolina. This is a greenfield startup assembly plant.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our growing Knightdale factory that produces high-quality, engineered and make-to-order power distribution equipment. The Manufacturing Engineeris responsible formanufacturing capability,continuityand continuous improvement. This includes documentation and performance measurement of manufacturing processes, new product introduction, improvements to production lines, capital expenditures, cost savingsmeasuresand fixture design

Roles & Responsibilities

• Improve safety for all personnel that work in and around production lines

• Measure and document manufacturing processes driving efforts and initiatives to reduce production errors, improve product quality and increase productivity

• Identifyand manage improvement projects that may require capital expenditures, contractors, cost savings calculations, CADdesignand physical installation work

• Work to implement tools such as Digital Work Instructions, Operator Displays, Performance/Status Dashboards, and other connected worker support tools

• Responsible for coordinating maintenance improvements related to production areas

• Maintainaccurateproduction line drawings

• Manage production line changes related to new product introduction and expansion

• Design,procure, andvalidatefixtures, tools, and shop aides including (lifting equipment, templates, calibrated tooling, and safety devices)

• Define key production work steps and required build sequences to ensure ease of assembly through a wide range of various processes and work environments.

• Prepare critical equipment, tooling, and infrastructure to support continuously changing production challenges and opportunities.

• Develop detailed specifications for jigs and fixtures for manufacturing processes usingtakttime, capacity calculations, engineering product design, and sourcing jigs and fixtures from vendors.

• Lead manufacturing improvements, complex process changes, and technology changes including process development, training support production team on proper methods of assembly and propose improvements to build processes.

• Coordinate and communicate technical information to all levels of the organization including vendors, project managers, production team members, and operations managers.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (Or Equivalent Experience)

• 3+years’ experiencein a manufacturing environment

• Lean manufacturing techniques

• AutoCAD or similar

• Experience with SAP or similar MRP system

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience simulating manufacturing systems and processes

• Experience with computer programming and/or database management

• Practical experience training others on Engineering topics including Bill of materials, Engineering drawings, equipment and tooling usage and maintenance, and safety.

• Ability to measure, design/specify and install production fixtures and equipment

• Proficiencyin data collection and analysis

• Familiar with MV, LV switchgear, power transformers, protection and automation systems,PVand BESS inverters

• Knowledge of data center, photovoltaic, battery energy storage, power distribution applications

• Software application knowledge ofSieOps(Salesforce), MS Dynamics, MS Teams

• 6Smethodologyknowledge and certification
