Job summary

Sigmatron International in Union City, CA, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support PCB, components and final systems assemblies, applying engineering techniques to design-to-manufacture for customer specifications.

You will review customer drawings and Gerber files, drive process improvements, provide DFM feedback, manage ECN coordination, and ensure IQ/PQ/VQ qualifications and proper tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in electronic contract manufacturing; defense/medical a plus.
• Valore DFM software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review customer documentation (drawings, Gerber files) to provide accurate labor quotes.
• Review processes and yield data to drive continuous process improvements.
• Assess manufacturability of customer documentation and provide DFM feedback.

Job description

• The Manufacturing Engineer performs engineering services in the contract manufacturing facility to produce printed circuit boards, components and final systems assemblies. The Manufacturing Engineer applies engineering techniques to PCB products and processes through design and manufacturing to produce final products in accordance with customer specifications.
• Review customer documentation – drawings & Gerber files – to provide accurate labor quotes
• Review processes and yield data to ensure continuous process improvements.
• Reviews customer documentation for manufacturability.
• Provide DFM feedback to customers for new, developing, and existing products as necessary
• Review & provide feedback regarding errors or omissions on customer AVL
• Review customer product for required tooling & fixtures i.e. stencils, wave solder pallets, special tools
• Create Product Manufacturing Process Instruction. Product Binders are to contain all info pertaining to each assembly (BOM, CPG, ECN, etc.)
• Reviews defects and determines the corrective action to be taken to avoid/reduce defects for future builds
• Initiate & process customer’s ECN or internal ECN & coordinate with team members to implement changes.
• Process and Equipment Qualification (IQ, PQ, VQ)

2.Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineeringequivalent

Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years experience in Electronic Contract Manufacturing field, work experience in defense or medical industry a plus
• Working knowledge of Valore DFM Software a plus
