Combined Metals is a premier North American processor and distributor of specialty strip and wire, with 50 years of growth. We seek a process/production engineer to standardize practices and drive continuous improvement across operations.

You will collaborate with Process Engineers, Maintenance, and Production to reduce costs, shorten cycle times, and improve communication and tool availability while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Experience in process and production engineering.
  • Knowledge of quality control systems.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manufacturing Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Standardize best practices and implement systemic changes to processes and equipment to improve operational success rate.
  • Troubleshoot and correct machinery or operation settings to correct for material defects.
  • Work with Process Engineers to provide feedback from the floor to drive process improvement through lowering costs, processing time, improving communication, product movement, available tools, etc.
  • Investigate problems in productionidentifyRoot Causes and implement Corrective Actions.
  • Tackle systemic problems in production and be able to investigate or propose creative solutions to fix problems.
  • Maintain the Continuous Improvement Program and manage project ideas to resolution.
  • Collect, analyze, summarize, and present production and process data to management.
  • Use software tools toidentifytrends in data.
  • Work with Maintenance to implementPMsto support Production Success.
  • Create ormodifywork instructions in MS Word/Excel.
  • ImplementLean/6-Sigma improvements in production.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Productionregardingtooling life and design to ensure effective and efficient production.
