Our client, Electrical Control Panel Manufacturer, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering team supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and shop floor continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of ownership, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to translate customer requirements into build-ready manufacturing systems - aligning successfully in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing environment.
What's the Job?
- Own the transformation of customer drawings, specifications, and requirements into standardized, build-ready manufacturing processes for electrical control panel manufacturing.
- Identify critical-to-quality (CTQ) features and ensure they are controlled through process design, tooling, and documentation.
- Lead design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews and drive improvements that reduce risk, labor, and rework.
- Lead manufacturing readiness for new and existing products by managing NPI activities, including BOM accuracy, routing integrity, pilot builds, and transition to full production.
- Design, document, and optimize assembly processes; develop work instructions and standard work; and use Lean principles to improve flow, quality, and efficiency while analyzing production data to find bottlenecks and cost/cycle-time opportunities.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience in electrical control panel manufacturing, machine building, or custom industrial equipment, with demonstrated ownership of manufacturing processes from design handoff through production.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and customer specifications.
- Experience developing routings, labor estimates/standards, and work instructions, with familiarity in manufacturing standards, quality systems, and documentation control.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and project management tools; and the ability to communicate clearly across engineering, operations, and customers.
What's in it for me?
- Opportunity to own manufacturing readiness end-to-end - turning requirements and designs into scalable, cost-effective production systems.
- Chance to lead NPI execution, pilot builds, and smooth transitions into full production while partnering closely with design engineering and operations.
- Impactful continuous improvement work using Lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, standardize processes, and improve quality and delivery performance.
- Hands-on involvement during pilot builds and early production to troubleshoot process, tooling, documentation, and equipment issues.
- Recognition for accountability across cost, quality, and delivery performance in an electrical control panel manufacturing environment.
