Job summary

Ellsworth Adhesives, a leading distributor and adhesives manufacturer, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Sparks, NV to develop and optimize manufacturing processes, including equipment qualification and workflow improvements, and to support production with technical guidance.

The role centers on cost reductions, quality improvements, and labor efficiency while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3 years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Able to lead continuous improvement efforts and work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates manufacturing processes and workflows for a Business Unit to improve quality, efficiencies and reduce costs.
• Leads continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiencies, and reduce costs.
• Provides guidance, training, and technical support to Production Teams and suppliers.
• Supports Quality Department with manufacturing-related quality issues and corrective actions.
• Performs manufacturing qualification on new or replacement components.
• Determines equipment, parts and tools needed for production.

This role develops and optimizes manufacturing processes and systems for assigned Business Unit(s), including package design, equipment qualification and layout, workflow and workforce utilization. It also supports production team by sharing technical expertise, providing guidance and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates manufacturing processes and workflows for a Business Unit(s) to improve quality, efficiencies and reduce costs
• Leads continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiencies, and reduce costs
• Regularly provides guidance, training, and technical support to the Production Team and third-party packaging suppliers
• Provides support to Quality Department in manufacturing-related quality issues to determine root causes and take corrective actions
• Estimates labor costs or standard production rates to quoting and improve processes where labor variances are identified
• Performs manufacturing qualification on new, replacement or alternative components
• Facilitates design of customer packaging solutions with both internal and external customers
• Researches, recommends and qualifies new manufacturing equipment, layout, workflow and workforce utilization
• Determines equipment, parts and tools needed for production
