Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for on-site operations. You will improve processes, design automated systems, and support production lines with PLCs and robotics.

You will collaborate with R&D, quality, and maintenance to launch new products, ensure safety compliance, and optimize manufacturing workflows using lean principles.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's in mechanical, electrical, software, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong CAD skills with SolidWorks/AutoCAD; PLCs, robotics, and data analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python, C++) and SCADA systems.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S) and core engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing manufacturing operations to identify improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.
  • Design, test, and implement automated machinery, robotics, and software.
  • Design, install, and troubleshoot new manufacturing equipment and production lines.
  • Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Program and maintain PLCs for industrial processes.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and technical docs.
  • Evaluate products against specs and resolve production issues.
  • Collaborate with R&D, quality, and maintenance for new launches and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure processes comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

The Job:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be part of our Operations team working as an on-site employee. You'll get to:

  • Process Improvement: Analyze existing manufacturing operations to identify, develop, and implement improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.
  • Design & Development: Create, test, and implement automated machinery, robotic systems, and software programs.
  • Production System Design: Design, install, and troubleshoot new manufacturing equipment, tools, and production lines.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze existing workflows to identify automation opportunities that enhance efficiency and lower costs.
  • System Programming: Program and maintain Control Systems, such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), for industrial processes.
  • Documentation & Standards: Create, maintain, and update work instructions, SOPs, and technical documentation for manufacturing processes.
  • Quality Control: Evaluate products against specifications to ensure quality standards are met and resolve production issues.
  • Support & Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, quality, maintenance) to support new product launches and troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Software, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), PLCs, robotics, and data analysis tools. Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, C++), PLCs, and SCADA systems.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S) and production techniques. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or software engineering principles.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting complex, automated systems, project management, and communication skills.
