Job summary

L2x Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced engineer to develop manufacturing processes and lead NPI activities for production-ready robotics-enabled products.

You will program and troubleshoot 6-axis robotics (Yaskawa preferred) and work with design/test teams to ensure safety, quality and process documentation. The role demands tight-tolerance environments and strong BOM management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in electronics/electro-mechanical/manufacturing/assembly.
• Hands-on programming and support of 6-axis robotics.
• Experience in regulated or high-tolerance environments such as medical/defense/aerospace.
• Experience with NPD/NPI or prototype environments.
• Ability to create and manage BOMs linked to ECOs/CARs.
• Ability to define and test electrical/mechanical methods.
• Cross-functional collaboration with design, test, quality, and production teams.
• Train operators and technicians on processes, equipment and standard work.

Job description

• Develop and maintain detailed process sheets, work instructions and standard work required to manufacture products.
• Lead and support NPI activities from prototype through production, ensuring processes, documentation and equipment are production-ready.
• Program, troubleshoot and support 6-axis Yaskawa robotic systems and related manufacturing equipment.
• Identify and resolve robotic, equipment and process issues impacting production.
• Update BOMs to reflect CARs, ECOs and approved process improvements.
• Define, validate and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical product test parameters.
• Partner with Design and Test Engineering to ensure safety, quality and environmental requirements are incorporated into manufacturing processes.
• Implement and sustain DFM/DFA and DFSS principles throughout engineering and product development projects.
• Work with Engineering and Prototype/ Sample departments to ensure new products are properly documented and production-ready.
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes, workflow improvements and production methods.
• Generate and maintain PPAP documentation including FMEAs, Control Plans and Capability Studies.
• Analyze RMAs and production non-conformances, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze production and test data to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Maintain awareness of customer requirements and use customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Provide hands-on support to Production and communicate daily manufacturing issues with production leadership.
• Train operators and technicians on manufacturing processes, equipment and standard work.
• Support equipment including electrical test equipment, welders, fixtures, inspection tools and assembly equipment.
• Maintain compliance with safety, environmental and housekeeping/5S requirements.
• Operate and train others on a wide range of equipment and tasks including Calipers, Voltmeter, Assembly of aids, jigs, fixtures, Electrical resistance welders, Ultrasonic welders, Electrical testing, Product labeling, and Shrink wrapping.

MUST:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (BSIE, BSME, BSIET or similar)
• 5+ years of experience in an electronics, electro-mechanical, or mechatronics manufacturing/assembly environment
• Hands-on experience programming, troubleshooting and supporting 6-axis robotics/machines (Yaskawa highly preferred but open to ABB, Fanuc, etc..)
• Experience in a highly regulated or tight-tolerance manufacturing environment such as medical, military/defense, aerospace, automotive or similar
• Experience with New Product Development (NPD), New Product Introduction (NPI), R&D or prototype environments
• Ability to create, update, and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) tied to engineering changes (ECOs, CARs, etc.)
• Ability to define, validate, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical test methods for product integrity
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with design, test, quality, and production teams to drive DFM/DFA and overall product quality
• Ability to train operators and technicians on processes, equipment and standard work
• Ability to uphold safety, environmental, and 5S/housekeeping standards on the production floor
