Job summary

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division in Roanoke, VA, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, improve, and sustain mechanical systems and processes for assembly operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
• Experience in high-volume assembly or electromechanical manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturability/Assembly) principles.
• Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Creo; familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve mechanical components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes to enhance product performance and manufacturability.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including prototype builds, process development, and production readiness.
• Evaluate existing products and processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency gains, and quality improvements.
• Develop and implement tooling, fixturing, and assembly methods to support safe and efficient production.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues in production and implement robust corrective actions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to improve yield, reduce scrap, and optimize throughput.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Lead or support continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) initiatives across assembly operations.
