Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to identify productivity savings and optimize manufacturing processes across parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. You will work with design engineering on new product releases and with MES deployment for production floors.

You will lead Lean initiatives, DFMA/DFM analyses, PFMEA, and cross-functional collaborations to improve efficiency, safety, and IT security plans in manufacturing sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • 0–3 years of manufacturing/production engineering experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma tools, DFMA/DFM, PFMEA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects to meet annual productivity goals and reduce safety/ergonomic risk.
  • Use Lean methodology to drive continuous improvement and waste reduction.
  • Support DFMA/DFM analyses and PFMEA evaluations for new/existing lines.
  • Collaborate with design and application engineering on NPI and product releases.
  • Justify capital requests and identify tooling/fixture requirements.
  • Participate in MES deployment and plant IT/productivity initiatives.

Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Collaborates with application engineering on manufacturing electrical panels, assisting with troubleshooting and issue resolution. Works with other central corporate teams to support improving plant operations. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. You will also maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.**Responsibilities and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**You will lead and participate in projects to allow the plant to meet annual productivity goals and reduce/eliminate safety and ergonomic risk in the manufacturing work environment.Use transformational productivity thought process to drive continuous improvement initiatives.Provide recommendations, requirements, and justifications to support investigation and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies.Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, to an audience of varying technical and cultural backgrounds.Use AI knowledge and experience to optimize production workflows and analyze manufacturing data for process improvement and process waste elimination.Have an active presence and participation in both the central office and the local plant environments.Use Lean methodology to reduce waste and improve process efficiency.Develop, standardize, implement, maintain, and govern manufacturing processes across all Rockwell Automation manufacturing plants.Help implement IT security and business productivity plans in the manufacturing plants.Provide design input and execution support for the development and deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and information management systems in the plants.Participate in new product and process design reviews for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuation Engineering projects.Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) analyses.Support justification for capital requests. Identify assembly equipment, tooling, and fixture requirements.Participate in the procurement, installation, and validation activities.Collaborate with others from within and outside of the Operations group to achieve common goals.Conduct tasks following applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) and other Rockwell Automation procedures.You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering and Facilities Manager**The Essentials- What You Will Have:**Bachelor's DegreeLegal authorization to work in the US is required.
