Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for an onsite role in Peoria, IL. You will troubleshoot day-to-day process problems, implement and validate solutions, and identify root causes to improve safety, quality, velocity, and cost.

The role includes supporting NPI, developing and maintaining shop floor processes, managing routings and BOM/MBOM, and applying Lean/Six Sigma to drive improvements. You will work with VPPA/MESA/Capp+/PINpoint and other systems on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, process engineering, engineering technology, or related field.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge.
• Experience with vision systems, automation/robotics, AutoCAD, PFMEA, gauges.
• Ability to learn and manage VPPA, MESA, Capp+, and PINpoint.
• CAD experience.
• Prior assembly manufacturing experience.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes; assembly experience advantageous.
• Experience with gauges is a nice-to-have.

• Analyze and recommend systems, procedures, training, and equipment needs based on communication with shop floor users and Operations staff.
• Manage expense and capital requirements related to assembly areas, NPI, product capacity increases, equipment replacement, and continuous process improvement.
• Improve value stream metrics through process improvement activities.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the value stream for assembly processes.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience as a manufacturing engineer in an assembly manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, process engineering, engineering technology, or a related field.
• Experience with vision systems, automation/robotics, AutoCAD, PFMEA, vision systems, DC tools, and gauges.
• Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, in-process validations (IPVs), Poka-Yoke design, and system/tooling controls.
• Ability to learn and manage new computer systems such as VPPA, MESA, Capp+, and PINpoint.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• CAD experience.
• Prior manufacturing engineering experience at assembly manufacturing companies.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes, with assembly experience being advantageous.
• Experience in process or industrial backgrounds.
• Experience working with gauges is a nice-to-have.

This role operates on the 1st shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Peoria, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
