Job summary

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a permanent on site position in Wichita, KS. The role focuses on developing and documenting manufacturing processes that meet customer requirements within budget and schedule.

The successful candidate will interpret drawings, create production plans, operate ERP systems, and support new product introductions while adhering to QMS standards and quality controls.

Qualifications

  • 5 years experience with machining in same or related shop environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering science or related field.
  • Ability to organize, problem solve and lead a project.

Responsibilities

  • Create manufacturing and assembly planning based on customer and TS-KC requirements.
  • Interprets drawings and specifications for requirements.
  • Operate ERP job processing system.
  • Participate in new product development meetings to review program for potential specification issues.
  • Interpret specifications; Customer, Military, Federal, Material etc.
  • Assist Manufacturing and Assembly during first runs ensuring proper documentation and job closure is complete and accurate.
  • Help to develop skills of those within department, assembly and manufacturing.
  • Follow written QMS (Quality Management System) procedures.
  • Familiar with SPC and related methods.
  • Knowledge of Machine Functions (G codes, M codes, Offsets, etc.).
  • Operate CAD/CATIA software for design and model evaluation applications.
  • Design fixtures, jigs and gages.
  • Troubleshoot problems and determine if machine or program error.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment.

Job description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a permanent on site position in Wichita, KS.

Purpose: To develop, document and prove out a manufacturing process that will control the manufacturing and assembly of a part that meets or exceeds the customer’s requirements within the allotted (budget) time.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements (Skills)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to organize, problem solve and lead a project
  • Information gathering, knowing how to find and identify essential information
Essential Job Functions:
  • Good Personal Computer skills with knowledge of MSWord, and MSExcel
  • Interpret drawing package (blue print, parts list, etc.) for requirements
  • Operate ERP job processing system
  • Create manufacturing and assembly planning based on customer and TS-KC requirements
  • Participates in new product development meetings to review program for potential specification issues
  • Interpret specifications; Customer, Military, Federal, Material etc.

Education/Experience:
  • 5 years-experience with machining in same or related shop environment (Required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering science or related degree (Other combinations of experience and education can be substituted)
