Manufacturing Engineer
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to facilitate the execution of the manufacture and integration of design efficiently and cost-effectively. The role requires a breadth of mechanical, electrical, and industrial skills to ensure communication between manufacturing and design.
Responsibilities
- Review new and revised product engineering designs to ensure manufacturability
- Research and create processes supporting new builds
- Utilize data and lessons learned to optimize processes and workflow
- Create and communicate workflows, production plans, and work instructions, including time estimates, for manufacture, integration, and testing of training simulators
- Identify tooling, fixture, and manufacturing requirements and design or procure solutions
- Serve as a project engineer to ensure coordination of larger projects and may provide oversight of contractors
- Act as a liaison with technicians, suppliers, and engineers to resolve questions about interpretation or execution of engineering throughout the product life cycle
- Monitor production against schedule to identify shortages and coordinate with manufacturing to create effective solutions
- Participate in identification of root causes and develop effective corrective actions
- Train and coach production personnel in new methods and improvements
- Interact with leadership verbally and through presentations
Required Experience
- Follow procedures and adhere to industry standards and local regulations related to design, manufacture, and safety
- Read and understand drawings, parts lists, wire lists, wiring diagrams, schematics
- Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards
- Working knowledge of computer-aided drafting tools, preferably Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks
- Strong computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
- BS degree in engineering or relevant field (significant work experience may be substituted for education)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a combination of manufacturing and engineering
