Manufacturing Engineer

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to facilitate the execution of the manufacture and integration of design efficiently and cost-effectively. The role requires a breadth of mechanical, electrical, and industrial skills to ensure communication between manufacturing and design.

Responsibilities

• Review new and revised product engineering designs to ensure manufacturability
• Research and create processes supporting new builds
• Utilize data and lessons learned to optimize processes and workflow
• Create and communicate workflows, production plans, and work instructions, including time estimates, for manufacture, integration, and testing of training simulators
• Identify tooling, fixture, and manufacturing requirements and design or procure solutions
• Serve as a project engineer to ensure coordination of larger projects and may provide oversight of contractors
• Act as a liaison with technicians, suppliers, and engineers to resolve questions about interpretation or execution of engineering throughout the product life cycle
• Monitor production against schedule to identify shortages and coordinate with manufacturing to create effective solutions
• Participate in identification of root causes and develop effective corrective actions
• Train and coach production personnel in new methods and improvements
• Interact with leadership verbally and through presentations

Required Experience

• Follow procedures and adhere to industry standards and local regulations related to design, manufacture, and safety
• Read and understand drawings, parts lists, wire lists, wiring diagrams, schematics
• Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards
• Working knowledge of computer-aided drafting tools, preferably Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks
• Strong computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
• BS degree in engineering or relevant field (significant work experience may be substituted for education)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a combination of manufacturing and engineering
