Job summary

Chromalox, part of the Spirax Group, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing processes in a discrete environment, applying lean and continuous improvement to boost productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

You will lead tooling, fixtures, and automation projects, support new product introductions, conduct time studies, maintain labor standards, and collaborate with quality, planning, and procurement to meet safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in discrete manufacturing (metal forming, machining, assembly).
• Proficient in 3‑D modeling software (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks) and ERP systems (MS Dynamics 365).
• Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement methods knowledge.
• Experience with ISO standards and quality systems.

• Maintain process documentation: work instructions, SOPs, control plans.
• Utilize ERP systems (MS Dynamics 365 preferred) for documentation and reporting.
• Participate in MRB team to resolve quality issues and drive corrective actions.

The Role

The Manufacturing Engineer develops, implements, and improves manufacturing processes to increase productivity, reduce waste, and optimize quality within a discrete manufacturing environment. This role provides engineering leadership by integrating advanced manufacturing methods, lean practices, and continuous improvement strategies to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years’ experience in discrete manufacturing (metal forming, machining, assembly).
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or other 3‑D modeling software
• CNC programming, Welding, Sheet Metal, and/or Machinist background a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement methods.
• Experience with ISO standards and quality systems.
• Skilled in plant layout, workflow optimization, and labor cost analysis.
• Effective communicator with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel; MS Project a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems (preferably MS Dynamics 365).
• Lean Manufacturing certification is a plus.
