Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production processes, develop new process technologies, and support continuous improvement in a fast‑paced facility in Liberty, MO. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, andQuality teams to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 2–5 years of relevant experience, strong CAD skills, and familiarity with MS Office and MS Project.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering.
  • Operational knowledge of machinery, tools and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Working knowledge of CAD, drafting tools, Microsoft Office, and MS Project.
  • Exposure to PLC systems and welding processes is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and safety.
  • Time management skills and deadline discipline.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to develop new process technologies and implement designs into production.
  • Complete special projects related to product and equipment design and testing.
  • Prioritize work to meet production schedules and release deadlines.
  • Support lean manufacturing and Six Sigma for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly operational reports.
  • Support daily production needs, engineering changes, and problem solving.
  • Improve KPIs such as on‑time delivery, yield and efficiency.
  • Design tools/equipment and train production personnel.
  • Coordinate with remote sites and suppliers to align operations.

The Manufacturing Engineer is driving manufacturing excellence by supporting the design, development, and optimization of equipment and production processes. This role is focused on improving operational performance, supporting lean initiatives, and ensuring efficient and high-quality manufacturing outcomes aligned with business objectives.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Leading efforts to develop new process technologies and implementing product designs into production

  • Completing special projects and executing tasks related to product and equipment design and testing

  • Supporting lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives for continuous improvement

  • Designing tools and equipment while providing training to production personnel

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Have 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering

  • Have operational knowledge of machinery, tools, and manufacturing processes

  • Have experience using measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers

  • Have working knowledge of CAD, drafting tools, Microsoft Office, and MS Project

  • Have exposure to PLC systems and welding processes (preferred)

  • Have strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and safety

  • Have the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines

  • Have the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders
