Job summary

AAA USA Inc. is actively hiring experienced Manufacturing Engineers to support aerospace, defense, transportation, and advanced manufacturing programs nationwide.

You will work directly with production teams to improve methods, resolve build issues, and optimize processes while supporting DFM initiatives. The ideal candidate will independently manage day-to-day process improvements and collaborate with senior leadership on higher‑risk decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or complex assembly.
  • Strong CAD proficiency and ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve manufacturing and assembly issues.
  • Improve methods, processes, ergonomics, work content, and production flow in assigned areas.
  • Analyze build sequences and develop efficient, repeatable manufacturing processes.
  • Use CAD models and drawings to understand design intent and improve manufacturability.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing drawings, models, and work instructions.
  • Ensure changes are traceable to engineering requirements and maintain control of fit, form, and function.
  • Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analyses and propose process improvements.

Essential Functions:
  • Work directly with mechanics, technicians, and production personnel to identify and resolve manufacturing and assembly issues.
  • Improve manufacturing methods, processes, ergonomics, work content, and production flow within assigned manufacturing areas.
  • Analyze build sequences and develop practical, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing processes.
  • Use CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation to understand design intent and identify opportunities to improve manufacturability.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing drawings, models, work instructions, process documentation, and other manufacturing engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure manufacturing changes remain traceable to engineering requirements and maintain required fit, form, function, quality, and configuration control.
  • Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis and recommend design or process improvements to improve production efficiency and reduce manufacturing issues.
  • Develop and present engineering recommendations and design‑change proposals to Design Engineering and manufacturing leadership.
  • Support initiatives focused on reducing labor hours, production costs, rework, scrap, and manufacturing cycle time.
  • Support tooling definition, fixture requirements, process development, and production equipment improvements.
  • Assist with ERP and manufacturing system alignment, including eBOM/mBOM reconciliation, routings, work content, and production data.
  • Identify root causes of manufacturing problems and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, Maintenance, and suppliers to resolve manufacturability and production issues.
  • Support supplier manufacturability reviews and resolution of production‑related issues.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable quality, safety, engineering, and customer requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and operational excellence initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or complex assembly.
  • Strong hands‑on understanding of machining, sheet metal, welding, composites, and mechanical or electrical assembly, with depth in at least one area and working knowledge across others.
  • Strong CAD proficiency and fluency reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience with DFM analysis and manufacturing‑specific documentation, or strong aptitude and willingness to build this capability.
  • Working ERP experience such as Epicor or SAP, including eBOM/mBOM reconciliation and routings.
  • Credibility on the shop floor, good judgment, root‑cause problem solving, and a track record of following through on assigned work.
