Job summary

Allyntra is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvement, operational excellence, and CI initiatives across our manufacturing operations. You will partner with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain to develop efficient processes, optimize capacity across sites, support capital investments, and lead technology-transfer efforts.

This hands-on role will influence manufacturing performance across multiple locations while maintaining strong safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in manufacturing engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years in Continuous Improvement / Lean; Six Sigma Black Belt desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • Understand GD&T and cost factors in manufacturing.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and select manufacturing methods.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and vendor RFQ processes.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate processes; apply design, fabrication, and tooling knowledge.
  • Develop cost-effective manufacturing processes and prepare routings.
  • Suggest inspection methods and validate process capabilities.
  • Improve efficiency by layout planning and workflow optimization.
  • Monitor issues; coordinate with sales, engineering, quality, and operations.
  • Create manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks; manage tooling drawings.
  • Source vendors and prepare RFQs for equipment and services.
  • Contribute to quality system and continuous improvement culture.
  • Lead Lean tools such as VSM, 6S, Visual Management, GEMBA, SMED.

Job description

Allyntra is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvement, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives across our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will partner with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to develop efficient manufacturing processes, optimize multi-site capacity, support capital investments, and lead technology-transfer initiatives.This is a hands‑on engineering role with an enterprise‑wide focus and the opportunity to influence manufacturing performance across multiple locations.

Location:Remote within North Carolina. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Charlotte area.

Travel:Approximately 50% domestic and international travel is required. Candidates must possess a current, valid passport at the time of application and maintain it throughout employment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by reviewing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors to identify effective manufacturing methods.
  • Develops cost effective manufacturing processes by studying product requirements (customer contracts and drawings); researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; prepare the Job Routings.
  • Assures product and process quality by recommending inspection/testing methods for finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing issues, non‑conformities & vendor problems.
  • Interface and confer with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and quality as needed to optimize manufacturing methods at minimal cost, as required. Recommend measures to continually improve production methods and quality of product. Resolve technical issues with local teams.
  • When needed, use Solid Works to develop manufacturing drawings and manage internal and external tooling design/drawings.
  • Find vendors and compose initial RFQs for new equipment, services and components.
  • Responsible for conforming with the company’s quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior
  • Lead, coach, and train on Lean Mfg Tools like VSM, 6S, Visual Mgmt, Single piece flow, GEMBA, SMED, and others.
  • Drive a culture of Safety and Efficiency
  • Develop costing of CI projects and impact on new and current products or processes.
  • Ability to develop plans, present findings and recommendations using data
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
  • 4 years minimum work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of Continuous Improvement / Lean experience. Six Sigma Black Belt is desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing or related Engineering degree required
  • Basic knowledge of product manufacturing cost factors
  • Ability to identify component/services/equipment vendors for initial RFQs.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical assemblies and components drawings
  • Understanding of product Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and how it affects DFM/DFA
  • Good mechanical knowledge of machines, tools, and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work independently and be decisive
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Capacity to make independent decisions and substantiate them in team reviews
  • Good level of proficiency in Solid works
  • Ability to make manufacturing drawings/sketches, help with tooling design
  • Machining or mechanical background
  • Basic understanding of cost estimating if not proficient and organizing manufacturing steps
