Job summary

New York Technology Partners in Buffalo, NY, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to eliminate waste and optimize workflows in an in-house machine shop. You will provide CNC programming support and keep Quality and Engineering updated on status changes, incorporating feedback for future improvements.

Ideal candidates have a 4-year engineering degree and at least 5 years in an ETO manufacturing environment, with strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills to drive efficiency and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Systems, Industrial, or similar engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in an ETO manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Manufacturing personnel to oversee initial program releases and troubleshoot problems.
• Provide technical assistance during manufacturing to ensure CNC program reliability.
• Determine optimal processing and maintain MRP routing and setup documentation.
• Develop/improve jigs, fixtures, and tooling for machining operations.
• Participate in Quality MRB meetings to document rework routings and corrective actions.
• Review and update work procedures and drive process improvements to cut costs.
• Propose capital expenditures to increase throughput and reduce costs.

Job description

• This position will be focused on eliminating waste in manufacturing processes and applying innovative systems to improve workflows though in-house machine shop. As a member of the Methods group, this role will provide CNC programming support to the Manufacturing department while keeping Quality and Engineering updated on any status changes as well as integrating their feedback into future efficiency improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Interact with Manufacturing personnel to oversee initial program releases, troubleshoot problems, and provide technical assistance during the manufacturing process to ensure CNC program/process reliability.
• Determine optimal manufacturing processing and perform MRP routing maintenance as well as setup documentation for each job.
• Develop / improve jigs and fixtures and implement new tooling for all machining operations.
• Participate in Quality MRB meetings to document rework routings and initiate corrective actions.
• Review and update work procedures as well as identify and implement process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and drive cost savings
• Propose capital expenditures that increase throughput while reducing costs.
• Proactively contribute to Buffalo Pumps’ Business Development initiatives

Education/Experience

• 4 yr. bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Systems, Industrial or a similar engineering discipline.
• 5 years minimum experience within an ETO manufacturing environment
