Job summary

Beyond Gravity, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to own daily structures production support and drive safety, quality, cost and delivery performance. You will work cross-functionally to define work instructions, equipment, and training, while leading continuous improvements across manufacturing processes.

• B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Manufacturing Engineering in a complex setting.

• Production line leadership experience.
• Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma knowledge with ERP experience.
• Experience with MES, CAD, and related software.
• Solution-driven, customer-oriented, and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support to manufacturing operations to ensure quality, OTD, and cost targets.
• Define manufacturing work instructions, equipment, tooling and training with cross-functional teams.
• Utilize project management to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
• Lead non-conformance root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvements to meet customer quality, cost and demand.
• Document and support strategic operations programs and customer programs.
• Coach production technicians and create training materials for software and hardware.
• Establish standard work and eliminate waste to boost productivity.
• Develop new jigs, tooling, and processes to meet requirements.
• Participate in change management and process/design improvements.
• Collaborate with international colleagues to standardize processes across the portfolio.
• Provide daily support for VSM, DtC/DfM inputs, and program engineering.
• Ensure on-time milestone fulfilment and readiness of equipment and documents.
• Manage production means and drive improvements; track KPIs.

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for daily structures production support. The successful individual in this role is a creative, solutions-oriented engineer that takes ownership of manufacturing processes to drive world class Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery performance into the business.

Your Mission

• Provide daily support to manufacturing operations and related support teams in order to assure technically correct manufacturing and product flow, thereby assuring the necessary quality, OTD, and production costs
• Work cross-functionally with operations, quality, design engineering, and other teams to define manufacturing work instructions, equipment, tools, materials, and training
• Utilize project management techniques / tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
• Play key role in the non-conformance process and secure measures for root cause analyses, corrective and preventive measures
• Support continuous improvements in concerned manufacturing processes to deliver in line with customer quality, cost, and demand requirements
• Establish and provide the necessary documentation in support of strategic operations programs as well as for customer programs, support and participate in project reviews as necessary
• Proactively support and coach the production technicians through frontline support utilizing an integrated project team approach; provide training material (both software and hardware) as needed
• Establish standard work practices across manufacturing and eliminate waste to increase productivity
• Develop and verify new jigs, tooling, equipment, parts, and processes to meet requirements
• Actively participate in the change management process as it relates to your respective manufacturing process, driving and implementing process / design changes, support improvement of business processes
• Work with international colleagues in order to evaluate, improve, and transfer latest state processes and maintain standardization across the company portfolio
• Overall Operations daily support VSM, DtC/DfM Inputs, Support to Programs and Engineering
• On-Time milestone fulfilment and readiness of manufacturing equipment and documents in cooperation with PM’s and all other stakeholders
• Proactive technical management of production means and improvements
• KPI`s: Direct Rate, Deliverables on-track / delivered on-time, Production Line(s) Station Tracker

Your Story

• B.S. degree or similar experience in a related (engineering) field with extensive relevant experience
• Demonstrate 5+ years of previous hands-on Manufacturing Engineering experience in a more complex manufacturing setting
• Demonstrates insight into quality and safety standards including AS9100 and OSHA or similar
• Space or Aerospace experience
• Production line leadership experience
• Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma knowledge/experience; experience with SAP or other ERP, MS Office
• Experience with MES, CAD and other relevant complex software
• Solution driven, willing to make a difference, , and customer-orientation
• Passionate and co-operative performer who puts success of team first
• Good organizational and co-ordination skills
• Good communication and teamwork ability
