Job summary

Leggett & Platt Flooring Products is seeking an EHS Specialist in Tracy, CA to drive safety and environmental programs. The role partners with the Branch Manager and Division Safety Manager to implement corporate initiatives across a 165,000 sq ft site with ~100 team members.

You'll spend ~80% on Safety and 20% on Environmental tasks, coordinating programs, training, inspections, and permit compliance while ensuring government regulations are followed across the plant.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Experience with Benchmark Gensuite, Watershed or similar EHS applications.
• Ability to implement pre-designed programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Well organized, detail oriented and good computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Knowledge of OSHA and EPA laws and regulations.
• Experience in the application of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement corporate EHS programs and initiatives.
• Complete required EHS and sustainability reports.
• Conduct employee training to meet company policy and OSHA requirements.
• Coordinate annual audiograms and respirator fit testing for employees.
• Evaluate/provide employees with proper PPE.
• Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual inspections as required.
• Investigate safety and environmental incidents.
• Collaborate with leadership to reduce safety risks.
• Facilitate monthly safety meetings and safety committee records.
• Maintain OSHA 300 log and other EHS documents.
• Oversee compliance with environmental and safety permit requirements.
• Arrange/track disposal of hazardous waste.
• Evaluate plant waste streams.
• Manage corrective actions from incidents.
• Other duties as assigned.
