Job summary

Vocational Services, Inc. in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Driver to support shipping/receiving, palletizing, delivery and pickup across Cuyahoga County and Lorain.

This is a nonexempt, full-time position working Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm with forklift and other material handling responsibilities. You will coordinate daily activities with Operations Management, assist with inventory, maintain safe driving practices, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensure paperwork accompanies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Location: Driving throughout Cuyahoga County and LorainShift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pmStatus: NonexemptVocational Guidance Services (VGS) changes lives and strengthens our communities through services that educate, empower, and provide the opportunity to earn a paycheck! We are currently seeking a Driver that will be responsible for performing the following job duties:The Driver will assist with shipping/receiving by using a forklift and related material handling equipment. Perform specific job duties as assigned by the coordinator. These include palletizing, delivery and pickup. Work with Operations Management to coordinate daily activity. Oversee logistics, all in-bound & out-bound and inter-company/ facility transfers of materials.Drive products between VGS and customers.Properly distribute weight and secure cargo using tie-down straps, load bars, chains, or shrink wrap to prevent damage or shifting during transit.Pick up raw materials, components, or tooling from suppliers and deliver them to the VGS manufacturing locations to keep production lines running.Work with customers to arrange pickup of materials & organize return/ delivery of finished product.Communicate work status with customers and adhere to customers’ production schedules.Make sure all paperwork is submitted and/or transferred between appropriate parties.Take regular inventory of materials and notify the coordinator when it is necessary to order materials.Maintain a clean work area.
