Job summary

Godshall & Godshall Personnel Consultants, Inc. is seeking a cost accountant for a direct-hire role in Spartanburg, SC. You will perform standard and actual cost analyses, handle inventory valuation, and reconcile SAP data with physical counts.

The position emphasizes cost control, variance analysis, and continuous improvement of inventory processes. The role requires 2+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing or distribution, advanced Excel skills (x-lookup, v-lookup, sum if),

Qualifications

• 2+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing or distribution.
• Advanced Excel knowledge with x-lookup, v-lookup, and sum if.
• SAP proficiency is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard cost and actual cost analysis.
• Inventory valuation and reconciliation between SAP and physical inventory.
• Review, analyze, and adjust Moving Average Prices (MAP).
• Analyze variances: material, labor, and overhead.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist with physical inventory audits and cycle counts.

• Review, analysis, correction, and maintenance of Moving Average Prices (MAP)
• Material, Labor, and Overhead variance analysis
• Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) analysis
• Month-end and year-end closing support
• Physical inventory and audit support
• Planning, analysis, and continuous improvement of Cycle Count programs
• Inventory reconciliation between SAP and physical inventory
• Slow-moving and obsolete inventory analysis
• Support and maintenance of SAP master data
• Review of BOM, Routing, and Production Order related data
• Collaboration with Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams to improve cost performance
• Continuous improvement of cost accounting and inventory management processes
