Job summary

Conexus is seeking a Corporate Controller to oversee accounting operations across multiple sites in California. Reporting to the CFO, this role will manage a small team and strengthen financial infrastructure to support growth and future capital initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a manufacturing background and 8+ years in accounting, including 4+ years at a managerial level, with CPA preferred and strong ERP/financial reporting experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 8+ years progressive accounting; 4+ years managerial/controller experience.
• Manufacturing industry background required.
• Experience overseeing external audit relationships and corporate tax compliance.
• Proficient with ERP and financial reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct all core accounting functions through a small leadership team (GL, cost, payables/receivables, fixed assets, payroll).
• Own the consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual close across all entities/sites.
• Deliver consolidated financial statements and executive reporting packages.
• Establish and enforce accounting policies and internal controls to ensure GAAP compliance company-wide.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and banking relationships.
• Oversee standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning with executive leadership.
• Analyze margins, costs, and profitability by product line, site, and customer.
• Build financial models to support capital investment, expansion, and pricing decisions.
• Benchmark performance across manufacturing locations to identify best practices.
• Manage treasury functions, cash flow and compliance with lending/credit requirements.
• Oversee tax compliance and strategy with outside advisors.
• Lead ERP and financial systems improvements to enhance reporting accuracy.
• Mentor accounting leadership and develop growth paths.
• Support M&A due diligence and strategic projects as needed.
