Job summary

Ajulia Executive Search is seeking a Lead Plant Cost Accountant to oversee cost accounting operations in a manufacturing environment in California. The role focuses on standard cost development, BOMs, overheads, and SAP master data governance, with accountability for monthly close, budgeting, and variance analysis.

You will collaborate with operations, supply chain, procurement, and IT to optimize costs, improve margins, and ensure GAAP compliance, while delivering KPI dashboards and management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA or CMA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with a strong operational focus.
• Minimum 3 years of finance leadership experience supporting manufacturing operations within a CPG environment.
• Strong expertise in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, and supply chain financial analysis within a production environment.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), business intelligence platforms (Power BI, Tableau, SAP Analytics Cloud), and Excel for financial reporting and analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage financial automation, analytics tools, and technology solutions to improve accuracy, streamline processes, and enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant cost accounting operations, including standard cost development, BOMs, labor routings, overhead rates.
• Drive monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis by providing actionable insights into manufacturing performance, COGS, and plant financial results.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, procurement, and IT teams to enhance SAP reporting, optimize costs, improve margins, and support strategic sourcing and capital investment decisions.
• Monitor and analyze key manufacturing KPIs, including conversion costs, yield, labor productivity, efficiency, and waste, while identifying productivity and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure strong financial controls, inventory valuation accuracy, GAAP compliance, audit readiness, and data integrity across all manufacturing finance processes.
• Deliver timely financial scorecards, KPI dashboards, and management reporting, maintaining high stakeholder satisfaction and zero critical SAP master data errors.
