Job summary

Howmet in Laporte, IN is seeking a data-driven analytics professional to own Power BI dashboards, harmonize MES/OHCMS data, and translate production metrics into actionable insights for frontline leaders and plant management.

You will collaborate on inventory accuracy, cost modeling, and system-wide data standardization, driving measurable improvements from shop floor to enterprise level.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the plant's Power BI owner; build, maintain, and improve dashboards for production metrics.
  • Support inventory management data pulls, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Pull, clean, and consolidate production data from MES systems; establish data governance.
  • Perform cost modeling in support of manufacturing decisions.
  • Translate raw data into actionable insights for frontline supervisors and plant leadership.
  • Align recommendations to business outcomes and share results with stakeholders.

Job Roles

Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as the plant's Power BI owner; build, maintain, and continuously improve dashboards tracking production rate, yield, downtime, scrap, and quality.
  • Serve as the site's subject matter expert and primary user for OHCMS; act as backup to the Lot Trace Administrator and maintain lot integrity across production operations.
  • Support inventory management functions including data pulls, reconciliation support, and reporting tied to production and supply chain accuracy.
  • Pull, clean, and consolidate production data from MES systems including OHCMS; establish and maintain data standards and governance protocols for site-level data.
  • Perform cost modeling in support of manufacturing engineering and operations decisions.
  • Translate raw operational data into actionable insights for frontline supervisors and plant leadership.
  • Analyze and disseminate data to relevant audiences.
  • Make recommendations based on synthesis and interpretation of data.
  • Align recommendations to business outcomes.
  • Serve as link between information and application functions.
  • Create and monitor standardized systems of gathering, understanding, and sharing data.
  • Improve performance from job level to enterprise adoption and adaptation.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands‑on experience manipulating and applying advanced statistical analysis methods to real‑world data.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience with Howmet, Arconic, or comparable aerospace tier‑one manufacturing systems strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with practical application of analytic statistical tools.
  • In‑depth knowledge of statistical software packages.
  • Proven success manipulating and applying advanced statistical analysis methods to real‑world data.
  • Self‑starter, strong interpersonal skills and ability to function and drive to excel within a team environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, project planning ability, and ability to effectively use MS Office applications.
  • Candidates must demonstrate hands‑on Power BI development experience, not familiarity alone.
  • Demonstrated experience with MES or ERP‑type shop floor systems (OHCMS, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Ability to serve as a system backup and cross‑train others on data platforms and lot traceability tools.
  • Experience supporting inventory accuracy and production data reconciliation in a high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing environment.
