Job summary

ASTEMO AMERICAS, INC. is seeking a Manufacturing & Operations Engineer to lead cross-functional teams in resolving manufacturing and equipment issues, and to design and implement production equipment and control systems.

The role emphasizes root cause analysis, process improvements, and data-driven decision making. You will support preventive maintenance, program PLCs and vision systems, and drive cost reduction through waste elimination and automation projects, while collaborating with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or related field.
Experience with OMRON PLC programming software, including CX-Programmer and SYSWIN.
Knowledge of FMEA and PQCT in manufacturing quality control.
Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with automated assembly, robotics, vision systems, and industrial controls.
Experience leading Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong project management skills for new product launches and equipment integration.
Ability to analyze production data and implement corrective actions to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills; excellent communication in English.

Responsibilities

Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing, quality, and equipment issues through root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
Design, develop, implement, and integrate production equipment, electrical control systems, pneumatic systems, and related processes.
Monitor manufacturing performance metrics and drive actions to meet targets for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
Support preventive and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Program, troubleshoot, and optimize automated systems including PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, robots, sensors, and networks.
Drive cost reduction through waste elimination, cycle time reduction, material savings, automation, and continuous improvement projects.
Provide technical training and support to production, maintenance, and engineering teams.
Develop and debug PLC programs for new equipment installations and process improvements.
Maintain and control engineering documentation for the Assembly area.
Support new model launches, equipment installations, and process validations to ensure production readiness.
Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Suppliers, and Corporate Engineering to achieve objectives.
