Job summary

Maravai LifeSciences in San Diego seeks a Manufacturing Associate I to produce research-grade components, buffers, solutions and reagents, operate and maintain equipment, and document actions in our ERP system. You will support a safe, compliant workflow in a cGMP environment and lift up to 50 pounds while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of warehousing or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Experience with SOPs and safety protocols.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with quality-regulated environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of laboratory hazards and hazardous waste disposal methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean work environment following cGMP and SOPs.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
• Document production by completing forms, logs, and records.
• Prepare buffers, solutions and reagents for manufacturing teams.
• Receive materials and fulfill production orders.
• Review and edit SOPs and work instructions.
• Operate within an ERP system and support schedule planning.
• Support waste handling and disposal activities as needed.
• Contribute to ongoing training and knowledge updates.

Manufacturing Associate I responsibilities: producing research‑grade components, buffers, solutions and reagents by setting up, cleaning, operating and maintaining equipment and documenting actions. Assist in processing glassware and other critical supplies required for manufacturing. Collect, sort and package chemical waste.

How you will make an impact

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment following cGMP and SOPs.
• Keep equipment operating, troubleshoot breakdowns, and request repairs.
• Document production by completing forms, reports, logs, and records for equipment and batches.
• Make buffers, solutions and reagents for manufacturing teams.
• Assist in maintaining the chemical waste processing area, labeling waste for in‑house storage and commercial disposal, and moving and managing waste drums.
• Update knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
• Receive materials, parts and supplies, and fill production orders as required.
• Review and edit Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Operate within an ERP system.
• Monitor and adjust daily, weekly, and monthly schedules based on planning.
• Perform other functions and duties as required.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $22.00 – $25.00.
