Job summary

Staffmark Group is actively recruiting for a Manufacturing Associate in Chattanooga, TN. The role pays $16.00 - $20.00 per hour with a 4:30 AM - 2:30 PM schedule.

You will inspect, measure, and ensure every product meets quality standards before it leaves the line, contributing to a smooth production flow. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in manufacturing, possess strong attention to detail, and can read work instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, plastics, automotive, or industrial settings.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, quality standards and production schedules.
• Basic documentation and recordkeeping skills required.

Responsibilities

• Trim, sand, flame-treat, and prepare injection-molded plastic parts for the paint process.
• Perform visual inspections of parts to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
• Load and unload parts according to production schedules and work instructions.
• Identify defects and perform minor rework using handheld electric polishing tools.
• Follow approved procedures for defect correction, rework, and scrap disposition.
• Maintain accurate records of defects, scrap, repaint activity, and production data.
• Complete traceability documentation and required production paperwork.
• Maintain line speed and support production goals in a fast-paced environment.
• Keep work areas clean and organized per 5S principles.
• Support team operations by assisting coworkers and covering breaks safely.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand and work at a production line for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, sanding, trimming, and repetitive hand movements.
• Ability to maintain required production pace and line speed throughout the shift.
• Manual dexterity to handle molded parts and operate hand tools.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment while following Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
