Job summary

Edwards Vacuum in Chandler, AZ is offering an on-site internship program for undergraduate and graduate students. You will join a local engineering team to work on real projects, including value stream mapping, asset organization, and new product roll-outs.

Fresh graduates and current students are welcome to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with engineering and maintenance staff, develop practical skills, and contribute to ongoing improvements

Qualifications

• Education level is undergraduate or graduate students, typically rising juniors/seniors or graduate students.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail required.
• Willingness to learn new skills and vacuum technologies in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Value Stream Mapping as part of internship activities.
• Identify and organize capital assets for the project.
• Design and build Oil Mist Cart.
• Assist in New Product Roll-Out and layout changes.
• Support to install shop floor signals and signals for safety.
• Contribute to project delivery and engage with engineering teams.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams on tasks.

Main Responsibilities

• Value Stream Mapping
• Capital Assets Identification & Organization
• Design and Build Oil Mist Cart
• New Product Roll-Out
• Reorganize Current Layout to Accommodate New Equipment
• Spec and Install Shop Floor Audible Break Signals
• Contribute to delivery of projects
• Direct responsibility for engineering activities
• To operate as part of local engineering team to share best practice, and support activities
• Working with our Engineering and Maintenance team to complete the task

Qualifications

• Education level: Undergraduate or graduate students. Typically rising juniors/seniors/graduate students; freshman & sophomores welcome.
• Relevant Previous experience: In relevant major for internship focus.
• Knowledge areas/Skills: Strong communication skills & attention to detail. Willingness to learn new skills & about vacuum technologies in a professional/dynamic environment
