Job summary

Liviniti, LLC is seeking a Manual QA Engineer in Dallas, TX to validate pharmacy benefit technology. You will design and execute manual tests for claims adjudication, pricing, formulary, and configurations, and partner with analysts, developers, and vendors to ensure fixes meet requirements.

The role emphasizes regression testing, end-to-end coverage, and strong documentation in a fast-changing PBM environment. Remote work options are available.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of manual QA testing experience within a PBM, health plan, or pharmacy claims environment.
  • Hands-on experience testing claims adjudication systems and pharmacy benefit configurations.
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy claims concepts: NCPDP claim formats, formulary/tiering, copay/coinsurance logic, accumulators, DUR, prior authorization, and rebates.
  • Strong ability to write clear, structured test cases and defect reports.
  • Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of the software QA lifecycle (test planning, execution, regression, UAT).
  • Excellent attention to detail and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain test documentation, data sets, and traceability to requirements.
  • Support release sign-off decisions during stage cycles.

About this position

Role and Responsibilities

The Manual QA Engineer is responsible for helping protect the accuracy, reliability, and quality of Liviniti's pharmacy benefit technology by thoroughly validating claims adjudication logic, benefit configurations, system functionality, and end-to-end business processes before changes reach production. This role develops and executes detailed manual testing across complex PBM scenarios, identifies and clearly documents defects, verifies that fixes perform as intended, and partners closely with business analysts, developers, configuration teams, and other stakeholders throughout the software development and release lifecycle. Through careful testing, sound judgment, and a strong understanding of pharmacy claims and benefit design, the Manual QA Engineer helps reduce production risk and supports dependable outcomes for Liviniti, our clients, and the members we serve. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design, write, and execute manual test cases and test plans covering claims adjudication, pricing, formulary, accumulators, prior authorization, and benefit plan configuration.
  • Validate claim outcomes (paid, rejected, reversed) against expected adjudication logic and plan setup.
  • Perform regression, functional, and end-to-end testing across releases and configuration changes.
  • Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual behavior, and business impact.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and configuration teams to clarify requirements and validate fixes.
  • Test edge cases involving copay structures, DUR, accumulator resets, coordination of benefits, and vendor integrations.
  • Maintain and update test documentation, test data sets, and traceability to requirements.
  • Participate in Stage cycles and support release sign-off decisions

Required Skills and Competencies

  • 3–5 years of manual QA testing experience within a PBM, health plan, or pharmacy claims environment
  • Hands-on experience testing claims adjudication systems and pharmacy benefit configurations
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy claims concepts: NCPDP claim formats, formulary/tiering, copay/coinsurance logic, accumulators, DUR, prior authorization, and rebates.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00AM to 5:00PM CT. We cover clients from West to East Coast; work times must be adjusted to cover meetings in all time zones. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant with industry demands

Travel

This position has no travel expectations.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Familiarity with SQL for querying claims and configuration data to validate test results.
  • Experience testing across multiple PBM platforms or claims switch vendors.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and PHI handling requirements in a testing environment
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum development processes
