We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Manual Machinist with a focus on Lathe & Milling in the engineering industry. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team and contribute to the creation of high-quality equipment and machinery. As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
• Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock to display placement of cuts.
• Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
• Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled.
• Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist within the engineering industry.
• Proven experience with Quality Inspection, Metalworking, Drilling, Boring, Threading, Precision Measurement, Blueprint Interpretation, Machine Setup, Manual Milling, and Manual Lathe Operation.
• Exceptional technical and mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent understanding of the properties of various metals.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and plans.
• High level of accuracy, precision, and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a good eye for detail.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• A high degree of manual dexterity and the ability to use hands for extended periods of time.
