Job summary

Ipsen USA is seeking a skilled machinist for our secondary shift to lay out work, set-up machines, and produce parts per design specs. You will work with manual and CNC milling, engine lathes, and band saws to meet schedules while minimizing scrap and labor.

The role requires a high school diploma or technical training and ability to read blueprints, interpret instructions, and communicate with management. We offer day-one benefits and a competitive shift differential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year related experience and/or training preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read blueprints and work with schedules to minimize scrap.

Responsibilities

• Capable of machining experimental configurations per specifications supplied by management.
• Operate vertical milling machines (Manual & CNC), engine lathes, vertical band saw.
• Collaborate with management to provide data on blueprint and routing issues for engineering updates.
• Work with minimal supervision to complete tasks and assist others as required.

Position Overview

Coordinates all activities required to effectively lay out work, set-up appropriate machines or equipment to meet or exceed fabrication, assembly, and customer requirements per design specifications and published schedules. Efficiently utilizes resources to minimize scrap, materials, and labor.

Responsibilities

Includes, but is not limited to, the following

• Capable of machining experimental configurations per specifications supplied by management in a timely fashion
• Working knowledge and or training/education of vertical Milling machines (Manual & CNC), engine lathes, vertical band saw
• Works with management to provide data on blueprint, bill of material, set-up sheet, or routing errors related to design issues to facilitate engineering updates
• Works with minimal supervision to accurately accomplish any given task
• Assists others as required

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 year certificate from a technical school or an accredited journeyman program; and a preferred 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Effectively able to present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and other employees of the organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angles, and volume
• Knowledge of basic concepts of geometry
• Ability to apply a common sense approach and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
