Job summary

ITT Inc. seeks a Service Technician to support its aftermarket repair and upgrade business in the Goulds Pumps service shop in Savannah, GA.

Building on pump design experience, PRO Services provides services that reduce total cost of ownership and increase plant output, including condition monitoring, predictive maintenance contracts, field service, engineered upgrades, inventory management, and overhauls for pumps and rotating equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Studied blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements, may need assistance.
  • Measured, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Selected, aligned, and secured holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
  • Calculated and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or entered commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Started and observed machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusted machine controls or control media as required.
  • Set up and operated machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Verified dimensions and alignment of assembly.
  • Installed machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tested operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Developed specifications from general description and drew sketch of part or product to be fabricated.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Service Technician to support our aftermarket repair and upgrade business in our Goulds Pumps service shop located in Savannah, GA. Building on centuries of pump design experience, PRO Services provides an array of services focuses on reducing equipment total cost of ownership and increasing plant output, including condition monitoring, predictive maintenance contracts, field service, engineered upgrades, inventory management, and overhauls for pumps and other rotating equipment.

Essential Responsibilities

Position Requirements
Knowledge & Skills:

Experience:
  • 2-3 years machining experience
  • Extensive experience working with Lathes and mills.
  • Knowledge of manual machines is a preferred asset but not required
  • Competent with manufacturing and repairing components to tight tolerances
  • Competent with the use of measuring equipment and accurate to tight tolerance
  • Competent with the selection and use of tooling while operating machines
  • Extensive machine set up experience, fixturing and workholding
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Journeyman ticket relevant to machining (general machinist, tool and die maker, ETC)

Equal Pay Act Range

Hourly pay range is $20.72 - $31.01 plus benefits.
