Brad Foote Gear Works, Inc in Pittsburgh is seeking a Manual Turning Machinist to perform complex operations on production parts using various lathes and mills. This role requires at least 3 years of experience and the ability to use shop mathematics, micrometers, as well as best practices outlined in technical documents.
Responsibilities include setup, operation, measurement, and inspection of parts. The position demands precision and safety adherence in a manufacturing environment.
The Manual Turning Machinist will be responsible for performing complex close tolerance operations in turning, facing, boring, chamfering, recessing and form turning on a wide variety of production parts. This position will set up and operate engine lathes, turret lathes or vertical boring mills.
Ability to read and comprehend documents including technical information. Ability to speak effectively with vendors and as a representative of the Company.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Strong ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several variables at the same time.
