Job summary

Zenix Aerospace AMT/Damar in Arlington, WA is seeking a Manual Inspector at Level 1–3 to inspect machined and sheet metal parts per engineering drawings and specifications. The role includes reading drawings, using inspection tools, documenting results, and performing nondestructive testing when required.

Eligible candidates have aerospace inspection experience, GD&T knowledge, and a high school diploma. The position offers daytime, full-time hours with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years hands‑on inspection experience in a regulated industry.
  • Two years (recent) hands‑on inspection experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Passing score on Advanced Level Engineering Drawings Test.
  • Passing score on Fluent Level Test on GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Trade school or college courses in related fields (e.g., blueprint reading, GD&T).

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets aerospace manufacturing drawings, including tolerances and technical requirements.
  • Compares product to drawings and purchase orders using inspection tools to accept/reject per requirements.
  • Documents acceptance/rejection on manufacturing orders and processes rejection documentation.
  • Performs Rockwell and Eddy Current testing for product acceptance.
  • Understands and applies statistical sampling techniques.
  • Reviews outside processing certifications and verifies final product conformance.
  • Follows AS9102 and Company safety guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

* This position has level 1 - Journey Level. Wage scale provided reflects Level 1 - 3.

The QA Manual Inspector inspects machined components, sheet metal components, purchased products and standards, raw materials, assembled products and outside processing for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.

What will my responsibilities include?
  • Reads and interprets aerospace manufacturing drawings, including tolerances, customer specifications and technical requirements.
  • Accurately compares product to engineering drawings/specifications, purchase order, and manufacturing orders using common manual inspection equipment, (e.g., PCM’s, height gage, dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges etc) to accept or reject product to customer engineering requirements.
  • Documents product acceptance/rejection on manufacturing order, processes any necessary rejection documentation, and performs various MRP system functions.
  • Performs Rockwell and Eddy Current testing for product acceptance.
  • Understands and applies statistical sampling techniques.
  • Reviews outside processing certifications of nondestructive testing, chemical processing, and finish, and verifies physical appearance of final product for conformance to engineering specifications.
  • Fully capable of understanding, performing, and completing FAI’s in accordance with Company and AS9102 requirements.
  • Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Teamwork: Collaborates and cooperates with Manufacturing, Engineering, and other inspectors to resolve issues. Knows when to ask for information and assistance, and assesses the long-term impact of decisions. Demonstrates a willing, positive, and proactive attitude. Follows verbal and written instructions; works independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Company policy awareness: Understands and complies with company policies and guidelines as described in the Employee Handbook, the Employee Safety Manual and the Quality Management System. Complies with rules and procedures of a drug‑free workplace.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The work environment of this position is generally indoors in a well lit and ventilated area. This position works in a manufacturing environment throughout the workday. This environment may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes and vapor from coolant, etc. Individuals must stand for much of the workday. Work activities involve combinations of standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, lifting and carrying. Work requires the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and correctable vision to 20/25, or as per customer requirements. Salary Offering:

$22.00 per hour to $37.00 per hour

Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm
