RRD in Illinois is seeking a Warehouse Associate for 1st shift to pick, pack, label, and ship printed materials. You will operate packing equipment, prepare boxes, and ensure accurate shipping information.

The role requires basic math, ability to read specs, and good communication. Willingness to flex schedule, overtime, and stand 4-6 hours. RRD offers competitive pay and benefits.

• 1 year minimum experience in manufacturing/warehouse; 3 years preferred.

• Willingness to flex schedule, including overtime or different shift.
• Physical: lifting up to 50 lbs; standing 4-6 hours; bending 2-3 hours.

Job Description

• Pick or package a variety of printed materials or related items using a variety of packing procedures and techniques.
• Follow detailed procedures to perform routine packing work. Assemble finished products into boxes or containers for shipping.
• Operate computers and relevant software.
• Perform related tasks such as placing labels on packages, and handling boxes for final product. Ensure accurate shipping information is attached, and packages are shipped according to specified schedule.
• Place, arrange, mark, seal, and tag items in bundles, on pallets and/or in containers, bins, and bulk storage.
• Meet established productivity and quality standards.
• Identify potential issues and involve department Lead and/or management to determine an appropriate solution.
• Count and sort various product items.
• May feed, remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels or other in-process product to and from the equipment in the area assigned.
• May assist with special projects or more complex customer orders.
• Share your expertise and help train other employees as assigned
• Carries out other responsibilities as delegated by management in alignment with evolving business needs

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year, but 3 years preferred, of previous related experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment required
• Must have the ability to read and interpret job specifications and identifying the correct parts for fulfilling customer orders.
• Must have very good oral and written communication skills sufficient to explain departmental procedures and/or methods when completing assignments.
• Basic knowledge of routine packing procedures, techniques, equipment and general warehouse procedures.
• Able to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items in accordance with operating instructions or under guidance of a higher-level employee.
• Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
• Skill in assembling standard shipping boxes and packing contents securely.
• Basic skill in the use of manual dollies, pallet jacks, carts or hand trucks and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as tape fasteners, and related equipment.
• Basic arithmetic to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Must be willing to flex schedule to meet the needs of production, including working overtime or a different shift, if needed.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs, 4-6 hours
• Walking/standing, 4-6 hours
• Bending/stooping, 2-3 hours

1st Shift: 6am-2pm

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $17.68 to $26.55 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
