Job summary

Albany International Corp. Rochester, NH is seeking a manufacturing associate to support proof-of-concept demonstrators and prototypes in a day shift.

You will set up equipment, perform maintenance, and apply weaving/injection knowledge per engineering instructions to support rapid prototyping. The role requires reading and interpreting engineering instructions, prior manufacturing experience (aerospace/composites a plus), and the ability to work across multiple platforms while maintaining

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing; aerospace or composites a plus.
  • Preferred 5 years in weaving/injection processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering instructions.
  • Physical demands include lifting up to 25 pounds and varied movements.
  • Ability to operate across multiple platforms/processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manufacturing operations to produce proof of concept demonstrators and prototypes.
  • Use weaving/injection knowledge to create concepts per engineering instructions.
  • Interface between engineering and manufacturing and communicate experiences clearly.
  • Set up equipment per engineering instructions and maintain it.
  • Execute daily autonomous maintenance and start-up activities.
  • Assist in developing improvement methods to increase safety and predictability.
  • Complete documentation for development processes with attention to detail.
  • Process workflow transactions in ERP system.
  • Assist with process capability studies and equipment installation qualifications.
  • Investigate and implement new equipment, processes and products as required.
  • Participate in R&T teams and safety/job hazard audits.
  • Utilize RCCA tools.
  • Comply with policies including safety regulations and SOPs.
  • Maintain clean and safe development areas.
  • Review documentation, assembly, inspection, test and packaging procedures and provide feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

5X8 1st Shift = Monday-Friday 7:00 am-3:00 pm

Responsibilities
  • Perform manufacturing operations associated with producing proof of concept demonstrators and prototypes.
  • Use advanced weaving/injection knowledge and critical thinking to produce as designed concepts per engineering instructions.
  • Use diagnostic and communication skills to be the interface between engineering and manufacturing. Must have the ability to communicate what has been experienced and or seen.
  • Accurately and efficiently set up equipment per engineering instructions.
  • Execute daily autonomous maintenance and start-up activities.
  • Perform unconventional or highly prototypical processes.
  • Assist in developing improvement methods and practices to increase predictability safely.
  • Accurately complete/create documentation associated with development processes. Attention to detail a must. Reflect reality of what has been done.
  • Perform timely and accurate transactions of workflow in ERP system.
  • Assist in performing required process capability studies, equipment installation qualifications, and process validation.
  • Assist in the investigation and implementation of new equipment, process and products as required.
  • Active participant on R&T teams /audits such as Safety Team or Job Hazard analysis.
  • Utilize RCCA tools.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety regulations, personal protective equipment requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and Good Manufacturing Procedures.
  • Responsible for upkeep of development areas and provide a clean and safe work environment.
  • Review all documentation, assembly, inspection, test, packaging procedures and provide feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Characteristics:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment (aerospace or composites a plus).
  • Preferred 5 years of relevant experience in our processes (Weaving /Injection).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering instructions.
  • Physical demands of the job include: stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, light lifting (up to 25 pounds), grasping, hearing, visual acuity, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, fingering and climbing.
  • Must be able to operate across multiple platforms/Processes.
Working Conditions

Indoor production environment, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations required, overtime dependent on business need.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently positions sheets of material onto molds and/or manually sands parts, etc…
  • Frequent repetitive hand movements, use of hand tools – pliers, sanders, scissors, etc…
  • Frequently remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time.
  • Must be able to detect and recognize visual differences between materials or parts, etc…
  • Frequently moves molds and parts >25 lbs between worktables and carts.
