Ni Hao Chinese is a Mandarin immersion program serving preschool to AP Chinese across Southern California. We are hiring enthusiastic teachers to join our afterschool and preschool teams in Torrance and surrounding locations.

You will develop fun curricula, maintain routines, and partner with parents and staff to support language development.

We offer flexible hours (15-25 per week), potential full-time roles, training, and a supportive environment.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Linguistics, Education, or Early Childhood Education.
• Native Mandarin speaker with proficiency in English.
• Ability to engage young learners through creative teaching methods.

Responsabilidades

• Develop engaging Mandarin lesson plans aligned with progression.
• Provide structured, lively lessons to motivate students.
• Assess progress and record outcomes regularly.
• Create simple, hands-on activities (arts, crafts) to teach Mandarin.
• Establish routines and manage classrooms of 4-12 year olds.
• Collaborate with teachers and curriculum specialists to share ideas.
• Communicate with parents and school staff via in-person and email.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

About the role

Are you a passionate educator with a love for teaching and a desire to make language learning fun? Look no further! Ni Hao Chinese, a well-established language learning program, is seeking enthusiastic Mandarin teachers to join our team. With seven locations across Southern California and a range of students from preschool to AP Chinese, we provide exciting opportunities for growth and development.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement fun and effective teaching plans that facilitate students' progression in learning Mandarin.
• Provide clear structures for lessons, maintaining a lively pace and keeping students motivated.
• Assess students' achievement of learning objectives and systematically record their progress.
• Create simple yet challenging curriculum, incorporating engaging activities like coloring, pasting projects, arts & crafts, and more.
• Establish and maintain a well-developed routine and classroom environment, effectively managing a group of young students.
• Display enthusiasm, understanding, and commitment to ensuring positive learning experiences for all children.
• Communicate with parents and school personnel in person and through electronic methods, utilizing educational software and email.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and curriculum specialists, sharing ideas, knowledge, and providing constructive feedback.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Linguistics, Education, or Early Childhood Education.
• Native Mandarin speaker with proficiency in English.
• Passionate about education and skilled in creative teaching methods.
• Ability to effectively express yourself through voice and gestures, bringing lessons to life.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate, analyze, and solve challenges when working with young children (ages 4-12).
• Familiarity with education software and Google Suite is a plus.
• Excellent multitasking abilities, balancing responsibilities with children and other tasks.

Hours and Schedule

Teacher for Mandarin Afterschool Program (15-25 hours per week)

Part Time Position (typically in the afternoon), Full Time Available if combined with teaching at our preschools.

About NIHAO Chinese

NIHAO Chinese is a Mandarin Immersion Learning Program focused on building community and supporting overall wellbeing at any age. We work with children ages 2-17 through onsite preschools, after-school programs, school district partnerships, and online classes to help promote a curiosity of learning and support Chinese language development at any level.

NIHAO was founded in 2012 with less than 20 students and has grown to have over 2,000 students go through our language learning program. We are excited to have a new Preschool Coordinator to join our team!

Our NIHAO Team uses our unique learning approach to work with your child to incorporate a blended curriculum consisting of language vocabulary, exploration, sensory integration, and project based learning. Our approach creates young leaders in their own educational journey.
