BASIS Independent Silicon Valley Upper School is seeking a qualified Mandarin Teacher for immediate hire to deliver higher-level Mandarin content and engage students in an interactive learning environment.

The position is temporary with an anticipated end date of October 23, 2026. You will collaborate with peers, differentiate instruction, and contribute to a culture of academic excellence across our private school network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the subject area is required.
• Postgraduate work (Master's or Ph.D.) is preferred. Strong communication of ideas, texts, and concepts is expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare subject specific lessons in Mandarin.
• Provide instruction at a level higher than the grade standard in an interactive environment.
• Implement BASIS Curriculum with effective and creative lessons and assessments.
• Collaborate with BASIS Independent teachers to build a professional academic community.
• Tutor students to heighten academic and career success.
• Manage student behavior to foster achievement and responsibility.
