Ham Lake Veterinary Hospital in Minnesota seeks an experienced Managing Veterinarian to lead our team while continuing to practice high‑quality medicine. You will shape clinical direction, culture, and growth, partnering with Heartland Veterinary Partners.

The ideal candidate is approachable, collaborative, and committed to patient care and staff development. You will mentor veterinarians, uphold medical standards, and drive client service excellence in a community hospital with a quiet country

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree required.
• Active Minnesota veterinary license or ability to obtain one.
• Experience practicing small animal medicine.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
• Collaborative and approachable leadership style.
• Interest in mentoring and developing fellow veterinarians.
• Commitment to high-quality medicine and an exceptional client experience.
• Surgical and dental experience is valued.
• Previous medical leadership experience is preferred, but experienced veterinarians who are ready to take the next step into leadership are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical, surgical, dental, and preventive care.
• Serve as a clinical leader and trusted resource for the veterinary team.
• Mentor and support associate veterinarians in their clinical and professional development.
• Promote collaboration and strong communication among doctors, support staff, and practice leadership.
• Support consistent medical standards and high-quality patient care.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable hospital culture.
• Partner with practice leadership on hospital goals, workflow, staffing, and operational opportunities.
• Support veterinarian engagement, development, and retention.
• Encourage continuing education and advancement of clinical skills.
• Help identify opportunities to strengthen services and support the continued growth of the practice.
