Job summary

Qualifications

  • Extensive EPA TSCA regulatory knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in consulting or government regulatory settings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for technical docs.
  • Ability to manage multiple client projects with deadlines.

  • Provide regulatory compliance and risk assessment for product stewardship and sustainability.
  • Develop clients through business development and marketing efforts.

Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Managing Scientist for our Chemical Regulation and Food Safety Practice. Location is flexible. In this role you will work as part of a team providing a high level of project management and Federal and State regulatory and technical expertise. You will lead projects, identify new clients, build on relationships with existing clients, and develop new business in the regulatory space.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced consultant to partner with our senior staff and subject matter experts togrowtheirconsultingpractice.

You will be responsible for
  • Providing regulatory compliance and risk assessment support for product stewardship and sustainability projects across a range of industries.
  • Developing clients through business development and marketing efforts
  • Client management and project work; interacting directly with clients and regulators
  • Managing and tracking client projects, project deliverables, invoices, and budgets
  • Providing regulatory and technical review and quality control support for projects
  • Synthesizing technical and regulatory information for clients and regulators
  • Providing scientific technical peer review
  • Mentoring junior staff
You will have the following skills and qualifications
  • B.S. is required. M.S. or Ph.D. degree in a science-related field is preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of EPA TSCA regulatory experience. This position requires knowledge, solid understanding, and practical experience with U.S. EPA TSCA regulations for chemicals
  • Five (5) or more years of consulting or government regulatory experience
  • Solid background in regulatory compliance and risk assessment related to product stewardship and sustainability
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship or processing required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to independently prepare, edit, and proofread technical and regulatory documents
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectively
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Experience with project management, budget tracking, and invoicing a plus
  • Exposure to sensitive information will necessitate considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Manager level and above total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.

The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.

Salary Range

USD $127,000.00 - USD $156,000.00 /Yr.
