GENERAL FUNCTION

The Managing Optometrist is the leader & business owner within the marketplace & organization focused on delivering the highest level of clinical care to the patient throughout the customer journey. The Managing Optometrist will support the office (and market) with medical practice, referral management, and pre/post-op surgical support (if applicable).

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Creates compelling vision for the future, develops clear goals & operating plans ensuring executional excellence & winning results in partnership with Regional and Store Manager(s).
2. Sets & communicates clear objectives & expectations, demonstrates commitment to exceed results through strong competency in KPI management & high accountability.
3. Ensures LensCrafters is recognized as a medical eyecare provider within the community by providing medical eyecare
4. Operates as stakeholder to all within the organization & local market.
5. Places the patient/customer as the center focus & delivers excellent service.
6. Leads/Manages the team in-house & in-market around medical optometry/services
7. Addresses all patient/customer visual lifestyle needs including medical and surgical recommendations (if applicable)
8. Builds patients/customers for life & become their sole family practitioner.
9. Listens carefully to patients/customers\' needs
10. Provides a summary of patient/customer overall eye health.
11. Conducts service in line with protocol & standards of care; establishes positive Doctor/Patient relationships.
12. Utilizes & leverages all technology to deliver unsurpassed patient/customer experience.
13. Demonstrates effective communication with all office & store associates to ensure a seamless patient experience & transition.
14. Maintains State Licensure & practices to the full scope of that license; maintains continuing education requirements.
15. Provides effective on-the-job training & guidance to team members making use of Company provided programs.
16. Delivers feedback in a timely manner to all associates. Confronts problem performers directly & without delay; practices performance management.
17. Creates a positive culture linked to corporate vision & values.
18. Conducts chart audits with Associate Optometrist.
19. Recruits, interviews & selects high caliber success oriented talent, creates talent pipeline for succession planning.
20. Forecasts staffing needs based on available information & assigns associates through the use of the labor scheduling model. Quickly adjusts staffing levels up or down to meet unexpected increases or decreases in office traffic & patient demand.
21. Adheres to company policies & procedures & acknowledges receipt of physical inventory.
22. Takes pride in the appearance of the office & ensures visual displays are in accordance with Company provided guidelines.

Basic Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry in good standing
• Demonstrated leadership/management skills
• Knowledge of current Optometric technology & practices
• Knowledge of Medical Optometry, including Billing and Coding
• Developed communication skills, both verbal & written
• Strong problem solving & critical thinking skills
• Organization & time management skills
• Knowledge of sound business management practices

Preffered Qualifications

• Residency trained
• Medical care experience
• Knowledge of surgical care and practices pertaining to Optometry
