The organization operates with a mission-driven approach to strengthen economic resilience across the country through strategic investments and partnerships. The organization serves as a bridge within the ecosystem of mission-driven lenders, investors, grantors, developers, consultants, and regulators. By facilitating the exchange of data, expertise, and market insights, Partners for the Common Good enables its stakeholders to attract capital, find partners, and develop projects that have the power to transform high-potential communities. The institution is committed to operating with accuracy, fairness, and maintaining the highest standards of integrity in all its endeavors. Partners for the Common Good is an equal opportunity employer that acknowledges and honors the fundamental value and dignity of all individuals. The organization is committed to fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued and respected, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds and identities including race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion, and national origin.

About this Role

Partners for the Common Good is seeking a senior editorial leader to help build out and run a digital news platform that serves the community development finance sector. The vision is to equip the greater ecosystem of mission-driven lenders, investors, grantors, developers, consultants, and regulators with the market insights and technical resources to attract capital, find partners, and develop projects that have the power to transform high-potential communities. By bridging information silos and facilitating the exchange of data and expertise, the platform will serve institutions working together to strengthen economic resilience across the country with accuracy, fairness, and editorial integrity. This role combines traditional journalism with hands-on leadership in shaping a modern, digital-first news product. The ideal candidate has experience covering finance and public policy, brings strong news judgment and editorial and reportorial craft, and has worked closely with information technology specialists and designers on content and data management, distribution, and display. The Managing Editor reports to the Chief of Communications and Marketing and is expected to exercise day-to-day editorial judgment over news coverage and content decisions, consistent with established journalistic practices. The role demands working closely with a small team dedicated to getting done whatever needs doing. Partners currently operates in a hybrid structure in which team members have the option to work remotely on Monday and Friday and are in the office Tuesday through Thursday. This position is based in Washington, D.C., with some travel required, and local candidates from DC, MD, and VA are preferred.
