Job summary

The Press-Republican in Plattsburgh, New York, seeks an experienced Managing Editor to lead our newsroom and shape the next chapter of local journalism across digital and print platforms.

You will set the tone, lead daily coverage, coach reporters, and identify enterprise stories that matter to North Country residents while upholding accuracy, fairness and ethics in reporting.

Managing Editor

Lead a newsroom. Make an impact. Build a life in New Yorks North Country. The Press-Republican is seeking an experienced, energetic Managing Editor to lead our newsroom and help shape the next chapter of local journalism in northeastern New York.

Based in Plattsburgh, N.Y., this is an opportunity for a journalist who believes deeply in the value of strong local reportingand wants the chance to lead a newsroom where the work truly matters.

The Press-Republican serves communities throughout Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties, delivering local journalism across digital and print platforms. We are a seven-day-a-week, 24-hour news organization, with print editions published three days each week and an ongoing commitment to breaking news, enterprise reporting, community coverage and compelling storytelling.

What Youll Do As Managing Editor:

You will set the tone and direction of the newsroom while working closely with reporters, photographers, sports staff and regional leadership.

Required Qualifications:
