FTI Consulting is seeking a Managing Director in our People & Transformation practice to lead change management, leader enablement, and employee engagement across multi-disciplinary teams supporting integration and transformation.
This senior strategist will work directly with C-suite, build programs aligned with client culture and goals, and navigate fast-paced environments while mentoring staff and managing budgets and timelines.
FTI Consulting is the leading global expert firm for organizations facing crisis and transformation. We work with many of the world’s top multinational corporations, law firms, banks and private equity firms on their most important issues to deliver impact that makes a difference. From resolving disputes, navigating crises, managing risk and optimizing performance, our teams respond rapidly to dynamic and complex situations. At FTI Consulting, you’ll work side-by side with leaders who have shaped history, helping solve the biggest challenges making headlines today. From day one, you’ll be an integral part of a focused team where you can make a real impact. You’ll be surrounded by an open, collaborative culture that embraces diversity, recognition, professional development and, most importantly, you. Are you ready to make your impact?
FTI Strategic Communications is currently looking for a Managing Director in our People & Transformation practice who will lead change management, leader enablement, and employee engagement programs as part of multi-disciplinary teams supporting integration and transformation. The successful Managing Director will apply a human-centric approach to change management, with a focus on effective communication, training, leader enablement and feedback loops – NOT process or program management. As a senior strategist working directly with C-suite management, Boards and other advisors, the Managing Director must be able to nimbly build programs aligned with clients’ culture and goals. They must thrive in fast-paced environments, be able to adapt proven best practices to the realities of an individual client’s situation, remain adaptable to other points of view and ways of working, and bring stakeholders along in each stage of the process. We are looking for someone who still loves to be in the work, teach as they do, and deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients in a wide variety of situations. A successful Managing Director understands and lives by FTI’s values, Code of Ethics and the Strategic Communications Rules of Practice. Additional information about FTI’s values, Code of Ethics and the Strategic Communications Rules of Practice can be accessed here. FTI professionals must act with the highest level of integrity at all times and hold our clients accountable for the same. The Managing Director must be able to manage multiple clients, direct and coach teams of varying experience levels, ensure projects remain on schedule and on budget, and proactively identify opportunities to expand the relationship both during and after the restructuring event. Some travel may be required ─ including the possibility of being a key contributor to onsite client engagements, but this is NOT a traditional on-the-road consulting role. Travel is more the exception than the norm.
The Managing Director will lead client mandates on a day-to-day basis and serve in a variety of roles from strategist to counselor to implementer. Our team prides itself on maintaining an inclusive spirit in which all team members are encouraged to offer ideas and stretch their abilities on an ongoing basis. We work diligently to make opportunities available, and all roll up our sleeves to support our clients and each other with tasks large and small. As a result, there is no such thing as typical day for our team members, but you can expect your work will include the following:
Direct access to our most senior leaders and defined long-term career planning will ensure you continue to develop your skills as a client practitioner and trusted advisor with a keen sense of the business. You will continue to be challenged as you partner with internal teams in various specialty areas (both within Strategic Communications and with other FTI business segments) to tackle a myriad of client challenges in a variety of industries, and you will be given opportunities to take ownership of certain aspects of our restructuring offering.
