Job summary

Western Dental Services, Inc. is seeking a Managing Dentist to oversee office operations, mentor dentists, and coordinate care with specialists. You will perform exams and lead personalized treatment plans while ensuring compliance and high-quality patient experiences.

The role emphasizes production goals, clinical excellence, and collaboration with corporate support teams to deliver outstanding care.

Qualifications

• Must hold DMD or DDS from an accredited dental school.
• Active, unrestricted state dental license (or in-process on graduation).
• CPR/BLS and DEA certifications are required.
• NPI number is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive oral examinations and evaluations to diagnose dental problems.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.
• Perform fillings, cleanings, extractions and root canals.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Maintain confidential patient records including X-rays.
• Refer patients to specialists for complex treatments.
• Mentor office staff and coordinate with leadership to achieve goals.
• Ensure compliance with safety, OSHA and infection control standards.

The Managing Dentist performs most of the new patient exams, mentors new dentists, and coordinates care for patients with the Specialists.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive oral examinations and evaluations to diagnose dental problems
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients
• Perform a wide range of procedures, including fillings, cleanings, extractions, and root canals
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including X-rays and treatment histories
• Refer patients to specialists (like orthodontists or oral surgeons) for complex treatments
• Mentor and build good rapport with office staff
• Partner with operational leadership to achieve production goals, uphold clinical excellence, and continuously improve workflows

Qualifications

• DMD or DDS from accredited dental school
• Active, unrestricted state dental license or in the process of obtaining a license upon graduation
• 3+ years experience as a practicing dentist
• CPR/BLS certification
