Entergy in Louisiana is seeking a Manager, Transmission Line Design to provide leadership for design engineering activities, from scoping and planning to approvals and standards development. The role oversees research, testing, and root cause analyses, coordinating with Long Term Planning, System Operations and other units.
You will manage a team, drive safety, reliability and budget adherence, participate in industry forums, and guide cost, schedule and quality across transmission line projects.

Preferred Locations: While New Orleans, LA is the preferred location, the hiring team is open to considering candidates based in other areas within Entergy’s service territory, including Baton Rouge, Jackson, Little Rock, and The Woodlands.
Provides leadership, direction and oversight for all Transmission Line Design Engineering activities, including preliminary project scoping and planning, project estimating, engineering and material specifications, drawing development, design reviews and approvals, surveying, geotechnical analyses, regulatory line approval activities, contract management, workgroup direction and strategic planning, configuration management, standards development, and compliance.
This position manages employees who perform research and testing on transmission line systems including electrical research that will support aggressive growth of our transmission business. This may include but not limited to new product evaluation, manufacturer audit, engaging with industry leaders such as EPRI. They will serve as the technical leader for all transmission root cause evaluations and lead teams to investigate undesirable transmission line events.
The successful candidate will provide technical interaction with Long Term Planning, System Operations, PM&C, CP-T, Telecom, Distribution and, peers from other utilities.
