Budget Car and Truck Rental of Nebraska is seeking a Manager Trainee eager to fast-track into store management at a busy rental location. You’ll be treated as part of the management team from day one, earning a salary with potential bonuses while developing skills to run stores, lead teams, and drive real results.

Responsibilities

• Support managers to run daily rental location operations from front desk to back office.
• Lead and coach team members to meet performance targets.
• Manage fleet flow and inventory to align with reservations and demand.
• Operate the counter system: open/close rentals, modify contracts, update manifests.
• Promote add-ons to increase revenue and customer satisfaction.
• Handle opening/closing routines and maintain security.
• Perform office tasks and respond to quick customer inquiries.
• Prepare daily reports and monitor performance metrics.
• Resolve customer issues on the spot with confidence.
• Support cross-location teams as needed to maintain smooth operations.
• Provide real leadership reps through coaching and supervision.

What You'll Be Doing (Hands-On From The Start)

• Partner with managers to run the full show at rental locations—handling customers, operations, and everything in between.


• Take charge of key departments: Keep things running smoothly and make sure every area performs at its best.


• Manage fleet flow and inventory (both on the lot and in the system) to match customer demand and reservations—think strategic puzzle-solving with real impact.


• Work the counter system like a pro: Open/close rentals, modify contracts, update manifests, and keep everything accurate.


• Sell smart add-ons (extra insurance, GPS, vehicle upgrades) to boost revenue and customer satisfaction.


• Handle opening/closing routines and security like a boss.


• Tackle office tasks: Phones, supplies, copies, quick customer questions—multitasking at its finest.


• Prep reports and track daily activities to stay on top of performance.


• Solve customer issues on the spot (explaining charges, handling damage claims, giving directions) with confidence.


• Jump in to support the team across locations when needed—build that collaborative vibe.
