Job summary

Budget Rent a Car of Utah is seeking a Manager Trainee to develop client relationships and oversee rental operations at one of our satellite locations or the airport counter. You will drive sales, deliver standout customer service, and coach a team to meet performance goals.

The role is salaried with bonus potential from day one, expects 45–50 hour weeks, and offers benefits including PTO, health, dental, vision, and a 401K. Growth opportunities exist for high performers within a tenured company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Excellent customer service and sales experience.
• Leadership experience or potential, preferably in a retail/ops setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist Managers with the overall operation of rental agencies.
• Oversee and ensure proper function of operational departments.
• Help monitor fleet and product flow to match customer needs and reservations.
• Operate the counter system to open/modify/print contracts and manifests.
• Assist in maintaining daily inventory both physical and computerized.
• Promote and sell coverage and upgrades (insurance, GPS, upgrades).
• Handle opening/closing procedures and security measures.
• Answer phones, order supplies, photocopy, and handle routine inquiries.
• Prepare reports and document daily activities.
• Address customer inquiries about charges, damages, directions, etc.
• Support team by assisting other agents/locations as needed.
• Involve in coaching and educating team members; assist with training.

Overview

This is an on your feet sales and operations role, managing client accounts, location performance, and rental operations. What You’ll Be Doing

Manager Trainees are on salary with bonus potential day 1, and will be under mentorship and guidance for typically 4-6 months. Budget Managers are responsible for all client relations, sales, customer service, and operations at one of our many satellite locations, or the airport. This individual needs to be able to work all hour of operations. Hours for managers typically average around 45-50 hours per week, with adjustments below or above depending on special events or circumstances.

Experience as a leader, preferably professional

A clean driving record in the last 3 years (with some exceptions)

Job Duties:

• To assist Managers with the overall operation of rental agencies
• Oversee and ensure proper function of operational departments
• Help monitor fleet and product flow to match customer need and reservation schedule
• Operate the computer counter agent control system (open and close rental contracts, contract modification, print and update manifest etc.)
• Assist management in maintaining daily inventory both physical and computerized
• Promote and sell coverage and upgrades (additional insurance, GPS, rental car upgrades, etc.)
• Opening and closing procedures, safeguarding security measures
• Perform office duties: answering phones, ordering supplies, photocopying, and handling routine inquires, etc.
• Prepare reports and document daily work activities
• Address customer inquiries (explanation of charges, vehicle damages, directions, etc.)
• Support a team environment by assisting other agents, locations and/or other areas when needed
• Be involved with coaching and educating team members as needed
• Assist with Training, supervise and motivate team members
