Hertz Local Edition (HLE) in Lansing is hiring a Manager Trainee to support location performance and develop leadership skills. You will work across sales, operations, fleet management, and finance to prepare for a Branch Manager role within 12–18 months.

The starting wage is $33,280 per year or $16.00 per hour. This role emphasizes fast-paced learning, leadership development, and cross-functional exposure to drive business results.

Qualifications

• Must be 20 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
• Strong computer and multitasking skills.

We're hiring a Manager Trainee to support location performance, develop leadership skills, and prepare for promotion to Branch Manager in as little as 12-18 months. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn all aspects of our business.

The starting wage for this position is $33,280.00 per year or $16.00 per hour

What You'll Do:

• Sales & Customer Service
  • Support achievement of location sales goals
  • Deliver excellent customer experience to contribute to high customer service scores
  • Learn and apply sales techniques and CRM best practices
• Operations & Fleet Management
  • Gain hands-on experience in fleet logistics and inventory control
  • Assist with store operations and compliance
• Vehicle and Facility Care
  • Support team with miscellaneous task including but not limited to cleaning and preparing vehicles for customers, lot management, and customer service assistance
• Finance & Administration
  • Learn finance processes and support deal completion
  • Understand reporting, documentation, and business metrics
• Leadership Development
  • Shadow and support management in daily operations
  • Build skills in team leadership, scheduling, and performance coaching
  • Prepare for future leadership roles through structured training
  • Learn how role contributes to/impacts the overall financial wellbeing of the company
