As a Manager, Trading Operations, you will be part of Schwab's Trading Operations Department/ Electronic Order Review Team. The team is responsible for ensuring that customer orders get to the execution points quickly, efficiently, and accurately, while protecting clients and the firm from excessive risk. The team does this through order risk and credit review/processing, order routing management, trade problem resolution, exchange support service, and systems management. Manager, Trading Operations, performs risk, fraud and credit reviews of electronic trades to ensure compliance with all regulatory and Schwab trading policies. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, review and processing of client orders (retail and institutional), managing extended hours trading order flow (including trade error mitigation), engagement with Exchange Service Support Team processes, coordination with Securities Lending and providing assistance to the Trading Operations System Team. Manager in Trading Operations have the opportunity to use strong customer service skills, with our client base in an effort to share knowledge and expertise at the time of order review.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to apply your knowledge of trading (Equities, Options, Fixed Income, Mutual Funds), trading operations (including regulatory trading policies), and margin. Manager in Trading Operations must display general intuition for business in making timely, independent decisions. You will be expected to show an enthusiastic attitude in helping the team reach our service level goals, while finding opportunities for efficiency. To be successful you will possess excellent communication skills, a client-centric approach, and the ability to actively participate in department initiatives. Desire to learn all aspects of Trading Operations functions and apply that knowledge to assist other teams in the department.

What you have

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry required
  • A valid and active FINRA Series 7, 63 required.
  • Solid understanding of margins required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 + years of experience with trading preferred.
  • Understands and able to identify trading patterns that appear manipulative or possible fraudulent behaviors.
  • Experience on Schwab legacy platforms highly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry regulations, regulatory bodies, utilities, and exchanges.
  • Excellent risk awareness and attention to details to accurately identify potential impact to the firm (either regulatory risk or unresolved risk due to fraud activity). Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Great teammate with ability to work closely and strengthen relationships with business partners.
  • Must have a good understanding of the various products that Schwab and its customers conduct business in.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Series 9/10 or 24, 57 preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Access database.
  • Confirmed superior analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated teammate with ability to work independently with minimal guidance/training.
